Kausar College Of Educaion
Established in 2002, Kausar College of Education is affiliated with University of Kashmir and is a premier College of Education provided Degree programs in B.Ed. The University of Kashmir came in to existence on 5th September 1969. Initially in 1948 it was the University of Jammu and Kashmir, primarily as an affiliating and examining body. However, the full-fledged University to sustain and enrich the ancient tradition of learning in Kashmir. Kausar College of Education follows the same learning and guiding principles ad University of Kashmir to spread the knowledge and education maintaining the high commitment of delivering the quality education.
Rules and Regulations
  • Programme: B.Ed. Session 2010 - 11

  • Duration: One full academic year

  • Eligibility: Graduates with 40% marks (Open) and 36% (Category) in the streams of Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Application, Business Administration, Information Technology, Bio - Tech, Engineering and Agriculture. The graduation must be through the University of Kashmir or any equivalent Institution recognized by the Kashmir University for the purpose. Vide Notification No. F(Amend St-B.Ed) Acad/KU/04 Dated Ist Nov - 04. Graduates with only two or three subjects instead of four, as authorized by the Kashmir University vide its Notice No. F (Equi-B.Ed) Acad /KU/04 Dated 6th Sep - 04.Graduated under 10+2+2 scheme with at least two years teaching experience in Govt. and private schools vide Kashmir university Notice No. F (Adm - B.ed /M.Ed/MA course) Acd/KU/04 dated 2 9 June 04.A student admitted for B.Ed course shall not be simultaneously eligible to attend any other course or appear in any other examination of the University, except in such cases where he or he has reappear in only one course / paper of an examination other than the qualifying examination or was scheduled to appear in the examination before the commencement of class work for B.ed course but could not do so the late conduct of the examination by the Kashmir or other University.

  • Medium of Instruction and Examination: English / Hindi in all papers/Courses except in Modern Indian Language where the medium of instruction and examination shall be the language concerned.

  • Admission Procedure: The Admission Committee shall look after the entire process of admission from the issuance of Admission Notice, receipt and verification of Application Forms to preparation and display of selection list on notice board.

  • Certificates/ Documents required: Before Selection. The application form duly filled in should be accompanied by the attested copies of the following certificates:
    • Matriculation or its equivalent
    • Marks certificates of B.A./B.Sc/B.Com. etc
    • Marks certificate/s of Postgraduate examination (if applicable).
    • Certificate of good moral conduct issued by the principal of the Govt. / Private College last attended by the candidates or the one issued by any Gazetted Officer.
    • Category certificate issued by the competent authority as per the latest SRO.
    • State subject certificate for LOCAL candidates only.
    • Affidavit / duly attested by the Ist Class judicial magistrate as per the Annexure I and II whichever applicable.

    After Selection: The selected candidates shall have to produce the entire required certificate in original in the college where admission is granted to them.

  • Distribution of seats:
    • 75% of the approved intake of a college shall be filled from amongst those eligible LOCAL candidates who fall within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Kashmir.
    • 25% of the approved intake shall be filed from amongst the eligible NON- LOCAL candidates who fall outside the territorial domain of the University of Kashmir.In case the number of eligible candidates is less than the number of sears available under local quota, the unfilled seats shall be filled from amongst the eligible candidates falling under non - local quota and vice - versa.

  • Selection of Candidates:
    70% of eats available under local quota shall be filled on the basis of open merit determined in terms of Clause 9.30% remaining seats of non - local quota shall be filled from the candidates belonging to the reserved categories mentioned in Clause 9 on the basis of merit. 25% NON LOCAL seats shall be filled on the basis of open merit determined in terms of Clause 9.

  • Procedure for determining Merit: Merit of candidates for selection shall be determined out of 100 points as per maximum weight age indicated against each in the following examinations. Qualifying Examination (Graduation) 90 points Post graduation (M.A/M.Sc/M.Com etc) 10 points (Only one Postgraduate degree shall be considered for determining the merit).
